I'm itchin' to get this show on the road now that there's been a break in our weather. Mud's looking awfully good after all the ice! Shake On It's final cover date was February 24th, so she's due any day now. Maybe she'll pop the same day her 3yo makes her debut at Oaklawn Thursday.

We had an early one on Dec. 12th, and one due any day. Also one due late Feb. and another not til July.

The one due any day is out of my older mare, 22, Nottingham Lace. She's a Whitesburg mare who won $15k back in the late 80's at Tampa Downs. She's a sweet, well-preserved, active, graceful lady. I can't say enough nice things about Lacy. I love them this age - wish I could get some of those from that sale!

We have five due this year. The earliest cover date was 3/13/06, but this mare ALWAYS goes WEEKS late. The second one's cover date was 4/7/06... maiden. She'll probably foal before the first mare! Either way, we probably won't see any action til March and after.

My Minardi-in-the-oven is nearly done.. hovering anxiously over Julie's Gem.. not much bag, picked up Domperidone yesterday, also Oxytocin, Chorulon, etc. Foaling season. Better to buy it and not need it than to need it and not have it..

We too are ho-humming along waiting for our girls to decide to pop. One of our mares is HUMONGOUS! She looks like a rhino. I'm afraid she's going to be the first mare ever to give birth to a yearling!!!!

We are waiting on an Honour And Glory, Limehouse, Mutakddim, Silver Ghost, and a Langfuhr at the farm. Our other mares in foal to Quiet American, Hold That Tiger, Eddington, Mineshaft, and Marquetry have or will go down to Lexington so that their foals will not be (gag) Ohio-breds!

Our earliest one is still 2 weeks away and happily eating everything in sight!

Good Luck to all!

He's Here

Postby Happy » Sun Jan 28, 2007 10:22 am

One of my maiden mare's had her foal at 12:45 am today. She was only 45 minutes late since she was due on the 27th. :D It's a colt and came out whining before he was completly born. Little on the small side and the mare and he are just doing fine. He's up more then he is down according to the farm in PA. And still very vocal. Said you would never know that this is the mare's first foal. She's acting and treating the foal like an old pro. Happy about that because you never know what they are going to do. I only have one photo, I tried putting it on here before and lost it and my message soooooooooo if you want to see him go to my little web site: http://www.msnusers.com/thoroughbreds. He's under the picture for foals of 2007 and he is the first for us this year. Seven more to go. Cryptoclearance sire - Judge TC mare. The Fappiano/In Reality cross. Enjoy! :D PS. It's not finding the above address, but if you type it on your browser, you can get it....at least I did.
