| Owner: Sir William Goring, 3rd Baronet
His sole recorded progeny is the Duke of Somerset's Jenny-Come-Tye-Me, 3rd dam of Ashridge Ball, which on 7 October 1718 is beaten in a 500 guineas match at Newmarket versus Brocklesby Betty, and said at the time of this match to be the best horse in England, although there is no documentary evidence for this, his match versus Brocklesby Betty being his only race of which a record survives
The Petworth papers record that Sir William Goring's Barb was used as a stallion in 1701. Petworth, in Sussex, was home to Charles Seymour (1662-1748), 6th Duke of Somerset
