| Owner: John Hutton II
The Hutton stud at Marske, North Yorkshire was probably established by John Hutton II when he purchased Hutton's Royal Colt "bred by Sir William Ramsden and sold to Mr Hutton in 1700" [GSB 1:382]
Hutton's Bay Barb is a different horse from Hutton's Bay Turk, but he may be the same horse as Hutton's Bay Arabian, although from their respective progeny estimated foaling dates the Barb was probably born 1710c, or earlier, and the Arabian 1720c, so they were probably different horses.
Hutton's Bay Barb has two recorded progeny, both unnamed mares, one of which is the ancestress of the moderate racehorse Amethyst, winner of two matches at Newmarket in the 1770s, and the other was the ancestress of the fairly successful American stallion [Maclin's] Fearnought
