As he was bred by Sir William Ramsden, who was born in 1672, Hutton's Royal Colt was probably foaled in around 1691 (and no earlier), the year after his father Sir John Ramsden died, when William was now a young adult. The horse was sold to John Hutton II in 1700.
Sire of the 6th dam of Marske, Champion Sire 1775 and 1776 and sire of the great racehorse and sire Eclipse, through which the Darley Arabian sire line extends to the present day in over 95% of thoroughbreds;
and of the Fen Mare, 3rd dam of 1) top class racehorse Black Chance - (1738 King's Plates Guildford, Salisbury, Winchester, Lewes, Lincoln); of 2) Moorcock, multiple good class winner; and of 3) Phantom (1743 King's Plates York and Lincoln)
