1902: 2ND to Alan-A-Dale by a neck in the Kentucky Derby in his only start that year.
A few days after the Derby, he came down with a fever ("distemper"), so was taken out of training. Sold to Mr Van Meter in January 1903 for $5,500, and said to have fully recovered from the fever, but had an injury to a tendon on the outside of his right foreleg.
