There were a number of horses in the Duke of Cumberland's stud whose names were some variation of Muley. It is possible that they were all the same horse or were in some way related. Muley Ishmael's only progeny of any significance is Crawford, which, when exported to America in 1760 became a moderately successful broodmare sire
