Said to be purchased as a 3 year old by Captain Burford from the "Sheik of St. John Diracki" [Saint Jean d'Acre, a name for Acre, Israel], he was sold to Mr. Newcombe shortly after his arrival in England.
Sire of a number of winners including the good class racehorses Dupe, winner between 1761 and 1763, and Presto (1768 King's Plate Lichfield); and of the grandam of Dictator, winner of two good class races at Charleston in 1794
