| Family 18 and 62 Foundation Mares are attributed to [Darcy's] Woodcock but date too early to be his, and are probably sired by an earlier [Old] Woodcock, this horse, a number of horses being called Woodcock in the early days of the thoroughbred
Sire of two unnamed mares which are the Foundation Mares of Family 18 and 62. The most significant horses in Family 18 are Waxy (1793 Derby, Champion Sire 1810), Oriana (1810 Oaks), Smolensko (1813 2000 Guineas and Derby), Ellington (1856 Derby), Summerside (1859 Oaks), Formosa (1868 1000 Guineas, 2000 Guineas, Oaks, St Leger) and April the Fifth (1935 Derby);
and Family 62 is a transitory family which dies out in the 1720s after producing Bay Wilkinson (1724 King's Plate Newmarket) and Victorious (1728 King's Plates Guildford and Lincoln), [Portmore's] Highlander (1747 King's Plate Ipswich, 1748 King's Plates Guildford, York, Lincoln, 1749 King's Plate Newmarket) and [Grisewood's] Partner, winner of numerous fair class races between 1736 and 1744
