| The Oysterfoot Arabian first appears in the 1891 GSB, without any background information. His name (and that of other horses named Oysterfoot in the early 18th century) may relate to his feet, "oysterfooted" then meaning a broad, flat hoof [The Experienc'd Farrier: 1720]
The GSB says he is sire of Miss Hip (his only credited progeny), but historical records show there was a (non-Arabian) Oysterfoot owned by the 2nd Duke of Ancaster (who owned Miss Hip) and sired by [Ancaster] Merlin which is at least as likely to be sire of Miss Hip
Miss Hip is grandam of [Ancaster] Dizzy (1746 King's Plate [mares] Hambleton, 1747 King's Plate [mares] Newmarket), and ancestress of such horses as Grey Diomed (Jockey Club Plate, twice), Emilius (1823 Derby), Wings (1825 Oaks), Caravan (1839 Ascot Gold Cup), Barbillon (1872 Prix Royal Oak), Saxon (1874 Belmont Stakes) and Wainamoinen (1902 Kentucky Oaks)
