| Foundation Mare American Families A13 and A18 (which are linked)
Some evidence indicates that she was imported by William Byrd III, of the Westover stud, Charles City County, Virginia, along with the stallion Tryal. From there she went to Peter Randolph of Chatsworth, Byrd's neighbour and colleague in the Virginia Council. After Randolph's death she came into the possession of Randolph's brother-in-law Robert Bolling of Bollingbrook in Dinwiddie County. Fairfax Harrison presents a number of early pedigrees that suggest she is the foundation mare of this family
The best horses which descend from this mare include Vagrant (1876 Kentucky Derby), Tecumseh (1885 Preakness),
Lookout (1893 Kentucky Derby), Typhoon II (1897 Kentucky Derby), Poetess (1897 Alabama Stakes), Lieut. Gibson (1900 Kentucky Derby), Prince Galahad (1919 Dewhurst Stakes) and many other high class horses
