The GSB says "the Darcy Black-legged Royal Mare" [Blacklegs Royal Mare] has two daughters, by King William's Barb Without a Tongue and by the Oxford Dun Arabian; however the Duke of Newcastle Stud papers show that the Blacklegs Royal Mare's daughter was Darcy's Sorrill Royal Mare (1703, by Wastell's Turk), and that the two mares above, credited in the GSB as her daughters are probably actually her granddaughters out of the Darcy Sorrill Royal Mare
4th dam of Oberon (1786 Jockey Club Plate);
and 5th dam of the great racehorse Meteor, which achieved the longest undefeated run by a British racehorse, of 21 races, winning his last 4 races in 1786, all 5 of his starts in 1787 and his first 12 races in 1786. It took a racehorse of the calibre of the great Sir Peter Teazle to bring his unbeaten run to an end; Meteor recorded 30 victories from 33 career starts
