Grandam of Shark (1771), which between 1774 and 1779 won 19 of 29 starts in England earning over 16,000 guineas, the largest amount ever won until that time; imported into America, he is an exceptionally successful sire, many of his mares breeding on; "Shark did as much to enhance the value of the bloodstock of the United States as any horse ever imported" - American Turf Register [1830]
